Splott Phoenix win M.B.L. Division 6, a great season with an undeafeated record of played 9, won 9. A big thanks goes out to all members this season, where we have played some very tough sides, but now look forward to 2011.

Whitchurch Charity Fours.
This is a day we always look forward to in the bowling calander, this year agin we fielded three teams, Phoenix 1, 2, and 3. It was a long, but enjoyable day and there was some great bowling by all 28 clubs that put out teams on the day. This year for the first time we had a side in the play off for 3rd, and 4th place, Phoenix 3 won all three games, but could only manage 4th place coming under fire by a great side from Whitchurch B.C., and losing by 28shots.But a great day for all, and over a thousand pounds were raised for charity on the day. Well done to Fairoak who won the day.

Splott Bowls club have disbanded after over 100 years of bowling, like all clubs the struggle to gain new bowlers, brought the club to fold, with only 8 members turning up at the clubs A.G.M.

Selection takes place on Wednesday April 14th for the first time this season, and will be on this site, by Thursday April 15th.
SPLOTT PARK 21st MARCH 2010
As far as we can tell, Splott Bowling Club will be bowling during 2010, we are pleased to say that the speculation that they were disbanding, we have found, not to be the case. Good luck Splott, and good bowling for 2010.
The opening game of the 2010 season away to Whitchurch Hospital, has been called off, the geenkeepers will not open the green untill the 23 April 2010.
Just a few words from our 2010 Club Captain, Mr Dave Wilcox.
Dear members and fellow bowlers,
Thank you for electing me as your Captain for the 2010 season, I hope to continue the progress we have made over the past 20 years..
This season will be one of the most challenging yet, with 31 competitive league and cup games, the majority of mid week games being played against clubs, in much higher divisions than ourselves. There are only 10 friendly games this season, due to our league commitments, we look forward to our annual game against Swansea B.C., this year we are the visitors.
Club compititions this year will start in May, and we are have our finals over the weekend September 4th to the 5th.
I know we can take up the challenge of both the C.M.L. and the M.B.L. leagues this year, and hopefully enjoy a very competitive season.
Finally I would like to say to all members and fellow bowlers, I hope you have a great season, enjoy your bowling, and lets hope the weather is kind to us. Playing as a team this year is as vital as its always been, remember no one goes out to bowl a bad wood, so lets have plenty of encouragement on and off the green, have respect for other bowlers whilst on and off the green, and remember, enjoy the game of bowls.
